About Fran

A career built around better outcomes for young people.

For more than two decades, Fran has worked across education, leadership and prevention, supporting young people to develop confidence, resilience and ambition.

She began her career as a Science Teacher, where she quickly became known for making learning engaging, accessible and relevant. Her commitment to pupils, colleagues and school improvement led her into senior leadership and ultimately to the role of Deputy Headteacher.

As a school leader, Fran helped shape teaching and learning, safeguarding, curriculum development, staff performance and wider school improvement. Her focus was always practical: creating the conditions in which young people and the adults supporting them could succeed.

Alongside her leadership roles, Fran has worked extensively as a Personal Tutor, mentor and coach. She has supported young people through academic, personal and emotional challenges, helping them build self-belief and make positive choices about their future.

Fran has also played a significant role in teacher training and professional development. She has trained, mentored and supported teachers at different stages of their careers, from new entrants to aspiring school leaders, helping them develop the confidence and skills needed to create lasting impact in the classroom.

Why Youth Futures Partnership

Turning decades of experience into broader, lasting change.

Fran's work with Community Alcohol Partnerships showed what can happen when organisations stop working in isolation and unite around young people.

Youth Futures Partnership builds on that model, taking a broader approach to harmful and risky behaviours and creating programmes that combine prevention, education, positive activity and community collaboration.

Her ambition is simple: to help create communities where every young person can access trusted support, meaningful opportunity and a realistic pathway towards a brighter future.
